{"id":503,"date":"2022-10-12T12:30:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T12:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/odishanews.com\/?p=503"},"modified":"2022-10-12T12:31:45","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T12:31:45","slug":"judicial-infrastructure-management-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/odishanews.com\/?p=503","title":{"rendered":"Judicial Infrastructure Management Agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\">Cuttack : Judicial Infrastructure Management Agency (JIMA), a dedicated Division established by the Government of Odisha in consultation with the High Court of Orissa for effective management of judicial infrastructure, and the first of its kind in the country,was inaugurated on 12<sup>th<\/sup> October, 2022.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The idea of separate entity to deal with judicial infrastructure was mooted in the recent conference of Chief Justices held in April, 2022 in New Delhi. JIMA could be seen as a response by the Government of Odisha at the state level to this need.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Adequate and quality infrastructure has direct impact on administration of justice. The physical infrastructure such as the buildings of the court complexes and residential quarters of Judges and staff form an important component of the judicial infrastructure. The function of JIMA would be to exclusively manage the construction and maintenance of all the judicial infrastructure of the State. JIMA, comprising Engineers and Architects, will act as the Nodal Agency in the matter of monitoring physical and financial status of the infrastructure projects of the State Judiciary. JIMA will look after the project preparation, drawing and design, architecture,procurement, award of contracts, engineering supervision for new projects and also take care of maintenance and renovation of the existing projects and the annual maintenance contracts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The office of JIMA in the premises of Circle Office of the Road &amp; Building at Cuttack was inaugurated on 12<sup>th<\/sup> October, 2022 evening by Dr. S. Muralidhar, Chief Justice, High Court of Orissa in the presence of Justice Jaswant Singh, Chairman, High Court\u2019s Building Committee for the High Court projects, Dr. Justice B.R. Sarangi, Chairman, High Court\u2019s Building Committee for the Subordinate Court projects along with members of both the Building Committees and the Judges of the High Court of Orissa. Dr. R. Balakrishna, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister and Shri Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Odisha were also present on the occasion.
