Bhubaneswar, 14th November 2023: In a significant step towards fostering international collaboration and economic growth, a 22-member delegation from Vinh Long Province, Vietnam visited Odisha to explore the potential of business and investment opportunities especially in the textiles, agribusiness, engineering, chemicals, plastics sector and so on. In view of this visit an official discussion between the delegates from Vietnam and officials from Government of Odisha took place in Hotel ITC, Bhubaneswar. The delegation’s primary focus was on forging collaborative ventures and identifying strategic investment opportunities and to develop cooperation with them in areas of higher education, health care, training, IT, Tourism apart from promoting trade and investment. Vinh Long Province, celebrated for its status as a mid and high technology hub, sought to leverage Odisha’s diverse economic landscape for mutual growth. The delegation expressed keen interest in several sectors in aiming to create a conducive environment for bilateral trade and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI)
Shri Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Industry Department, Government of Odisha, extended a warm welcome to the Vinh Long Province Delegation. His opening remarks set the tone for a constructive and collaborative engagement. He delivered a comprehensive presentation on the industrial ecosystem in Odisha. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hanh, Member of the Central Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Department, Vietnam, delivered a special address. Her insights provided a valuable perspective on the goals and aspirations of the Vinh Long Province Delegation.
Mr. Pradeep Kumar Jena, Chief Secretary Government of Odisha, graced the occasion. Earlier in the day he met the delegation and discussed about the rapid strides made by Odisha in the field of disaster management, agriculture and transformative health practices.
Mr. Pratap Kesari Deb, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, MSME, and Energy for the Government of Odisha, delivered a special speech focusing on the vast opportunities available in the industrial sector. Key points were presented, showcasing the potential for investment and growth in Odisha with emphasis on the visionary steps of Hon’ble CM of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik for attracting the investors to Odisha.
In the end, Mr. Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Managing Director IDCO& IPICOL Government of Odisha, thanked the Vinh Long Province Delegation for their visit along with other dignitaries present and emphasized the commitment of Odisha to fostering meaningful collaborations and partnerships.
