Hon’ble Mr. Justice Chittaranjan Dash

Mr. Chitta Ranjan Dash was born at Rourkela on 12th November 1964 to Late Smt. Padmini Dash and Late Sri Raghunath Dash. Father, who was an Officer in the Orissa Administrative Service. Sri Dash began his schooling in Rourkela, B.S.High School, Sundargarh and Ispat Vidyapitha, Sector-18, Rourkela. Completed his graduation in Arts from Government College, Rourkela and Graduated in Law from Lala Lajpat Ray Law College, Sambalpur. Enrolled as a Lawyer in the Orissa State Bar Council in the year 1988. Sri Dash started his practice being a member of Rourkela Bar Association under his father-in-law, Late Sri Gobardhan Pujari, an eminent Lawyer in the field of Labour & Service Law, while his mother-in-law Late Sailabala Pujari was a great literary personality and social activist beside being the first lady Advocate of Western Orissa. From the beginning of his career Sri Dash was sincere and dedicated to the profession and dealt with Labour, Service and Civil Branch of Law. Within a short span of his professional career Sri Dash became the empanelled lawyer for M/s Rourkela Steel Plant and dealt with several important civil matters. He was also the Lawyer for many other Public and Private Sector Undertakings such as M/s Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited, M/s Orissa Cement Limited, M/s Shiva Cement Limited, Chariot Cement Limited, IPI-SP Cement Limited, Indian Detonators Limited, M/S Asiatic Gases Limited, M/s Grihasthi Udyog, M/s. M.N Dastur &Co., M/s Radhika Hotel, M/s Vrindavan Hotel and many more. He was also member of Arbitration Society and conducted Arbitration by visiting different places in the state of Orissa and Jharkhand. Stood 1st position in the written and Viva examination conducted by the High Court of Orissa in the year 2003 for selection to the post of Adhoc Addl. District & Sessions Judge and got posted as Adhoc Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Cuttack in the year 2004. Got transferred to Kandhamal to deal with riot cases and conducted the prominent trial in the murder case of Hindu Saint Swami Laxmananda Saraswati. Sri Dash was posted as IIIrd and IInd Addl District & Sessions Judge, Cuttack, Special Judge Vigilance at Kalahandi, served as Registrar (Judicial) in the Hon’ble Court and District & Sessions Judge, Rayagada. Presently Sri Dash was serving as Registrar General, Orissa High Court since March 2021. He is happily married to Smt. Abhipsa Dash, eminent writer & poet and is blessed with a daughter, Ms. Ananya and son Master Hari Prasad Sabyasachi. He has a keen interest in listening to music and practicing the art of
meditation.
